Rehosting Software AG products

Rehosting involves the complete transfer of your Adabas/Natural systems to a different operating platform. It is also known as Cross-Platform Migration.

  • Example: Move all of your data and applications from platforms such as AIX, HP-UX, Solaris or Z/OS to the Linux environment.
  • Approach: We manage the transfer, conversion, and validation of all data and application logic to ensure a successful transition to the new infrastructure, minimizing service disruption and leveraging the benefits of the new platform.

Rehosting

Migrating from z/OS to Linux allows you to drastically reduce operating costs while maintaining the same performance and reliability, with an open, flexible, and cloud-ready platform.

In addition, we modernized the installation by configuring access from web browsers and activating REST API for querying Adabas files.

Install

Install the new products on the Linux platform since AIX, HP-UX and Solaris are out of service.

Migration AIX, HP-UX, SOLARIS

Depending on the source version and/or platform, an Adabas backup or the extraction of each Adabas file is required. We perform backups of the natural fuser, natparm, and export predict and natural security. We also carry over the scripts and adapt the platform-specific commands to those used in Linux.

MigrationZ/OS

Download the Adabas files from z/OS and convert them from EBCDIC to ASCII using a code page customized by the client. We transform jcls into shell script or Python. We download libraries using systrans and load them onto Linux. We install open-source tools that replace batch queue management.

NDV

Installing NDV so that development teams can connect from NaturalOne and/or Natural for Windows

Interface Web

We adapt natural applications to be run from a web browser using natural web I/O if they are compatible with the product.
